Michele's day...

Today is the day I head off to the local newspaper to give them an interview. And they want to take pictures. Yeah, I know, that's sounds backwards, doesn't it? Aren't they supposed to come to you? Well, I sent them a copy of my book, GETAWAY GIRL, so I figure I'd better go to them. So that gives me all morning to try and work with the bad hair day I woke up with.

Believe it or not, that is a darned good depiction of my current condition. So it's off to the post office (to mail out more books in hopes even more people will want to interview me and --HORRORS!--take my picture.) Then a detour to a salon to get a cut and style.
Hopefully later there will be time to get a new scene written in my current work in progress. The working title is DANSE MACABRE but it's not going to stick. It's certainly NOT a Bombshell title, though it fits the story perfectly (flamenco-dancing assassin, anyone?). And then that darned Laurell K. Hamilton had to go and steal the title, so I'm looking for something new, but it's not coming to me at the moment.
Also, I'm writing book #1 in a four-author series for Nocturne. It's about demons and familiars and faeries and all that good dark stuff. So I'd like to do a little polishing on that as well.
And type up a few more query letters for the books I'm mailing out for review. How to convince Entertainment Weekly to give my little series book a try? It seems an impossible task, but I'm always up for a good challenge.
Now if my hair would just BEHAVE!

Update: Okay, I've done my errands, and stopped by the salon. Thought I'd post a pic of the lovely new me.

It just doesn't get any better, people!

Yet another update: I made it through the interview swimmingly. The reporter was very nice and we chatted for an hour. But then she whipped out her camera. I managed to snag a candid shot and sneak it home with me because I know you're all so eager to see how it went.

That's so cool you're getting newspaper interviews! Watch out EW!

Sure I'll post the new me when I return. And Kelly, I don't think it's all that difficult to get an interview in my local paper, but then again, I'll take it and use it. Now to find the Star Tribune and The Rake contacts...

Michele, too funny! I'm still chuckling over this. I hope the interview went well and they'll portray you as the goddess you are!

I made it! And just a little scathed. (Is that the opposite of unscathed? Never used that word before.) Anyway, now it's off to get groceries, where I'm sure I'll be recognized as the funny looking lady in the bedroom slippers instead of that 'famous author'. But I ain't complaining.
