Did you see that ninja?

No?  Don't worry, he's a ninja, you're not supposed to see him.  :-) Sort of like love.  Sometimes you don't see it coming, and it rushes in like a ninja and steals your heart before you even know what hit you.  That's what happens in my latest electronic novella, THE NINJA VAMPIRE'S GIRL.  The story is a quick adventure that takes place one night in London as the heroine quests for an angel's halo, and instead finds herself in the arms of a handsome man who also wants the halo—and isn't afraid to use his fangs to get it.  It's a fast, fun read, and it's part of my Of Angels & Demons series, and a part of my Beautiful Creatures world.
I love writing the Nocturne Bites because I usually do them in first person, and I like to play with that POV once in a while.  Also, the short format challenges me to see if I can make the hero and heroine fall in love—fast.  I've mentioned here before that I believe in love at first sight, well, this story is more like love at first bite.  :-)

I made a book trailer, and this is only my second attempt at using iMovie, so it's simple and the music I found was pretty short, so I'm warning you, it's a fast read.

I don't actually have copies of Ninja Vamp to give away, but I do have SEDUCING THE VAMPIRESeducing the Vampire (Hqn), which isn't in stores until the end of this month.  I'll give away 2 copies to two lucky commenters.  Tell me if you like short stories, or if you prefer them full-length?

WELCOME LAURA WRIGHT!

COVER LOVER?

First let me say thank you to Cindy Gerard and all the incredible authors at Riding with the Top Down for having me. It’s so great to hang out with you guys
and talk ETERNAL HUNGER, the first book in my Mark of the Vampire series, which hit the shelves as of October 4th!!

And...(drumroll) here's a debut sneak peak of the hot off the presses cover for my second book in the series, ETERNAL KISS!
(out 4/2011)

Covers. Oh boy, that can be a wild, interesting, maddening, thrilling topic, no? Walking down the aisle in your favorite book store, your eyes running over the sea of titles – what catches you and makes you pick it up, flip it over and read the back? Or heck, what makes you cringe and turn the other way?

Since moving from category romance to paranormal, I’ve seen hundreds of awesome covers, drooled over many a hunky bare-chested hero, and yet I’m always interested in what everyone
else deems a ‘killer cover.’ There’s been some talk lately about the hero chest cover shots being overdone. For me, there can’t be enough ripped chest - and throw in a little strong jaw and a tat and I’m a buyin’!

Hee hee.

So what about you? Are covers a huge deal when you buy a book? What kinds of covers attract you? And what kinds have you running from the store?

I have 2 copies of ETERNAL HUNGER to give away so please comment!

Hey gang - Cindy, here, chiming in to let you know that the buzz for ETERNAL HUNGER
is at a fever pitch! Publisher's Weekly, in a starred review says: Just when it seems every possible vampire twist has been turned, Wright launches a powerful series with a rich mythology, page-turning tension, and blistering sensuality. Cool, right? Make sure you rush right out and check out this amazing book! http://laurawright.com

Her Vampire Husband now in stores!

Yay!  I just got back from my local Borders, and spied HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND on the book shelves!  To use the words of the infamous Captain UnderPants, "Tra-laaaaa!!!!!"  Its official release date wasn't until March 30th, but I'm not complaining.  It's very exciting to see this book out there.  I think it's one of the sexiest, prettiest covers I've ever had (though if you page down on the right, my June cover is nothing to sneeze at).  I hope it'll sell bajillions!

Now, how to celebrate?  Recently I've tended to have my books come out month after month, giving me little time to breathe, or even appreciate the fact I've got another book out.  So I must stop.  Take a deep breath.  Thank the universe for this gift.  And enjoy this book's debut.  It features one of my favorite hero and heroine pairs.  So how would Blu and Creed celebrate?

Blu would put on a sexy red wig, probably a black corset dress and her lace-up gladiator high heeled-boots.  Creed would order in the spicy, chili-laced chocolate dessert and the twosome would make a night of it, tunes cranked to 11, chocolate sauce dribbling down body parts—er, okay, yeah, I know how those two would celebrate.  ;-)

Me, I'm going to see if I can get the hubby to take me out for a nice supper.  But not at my suggestion.  It's gotta be his idea, like a REAL date.  And he has to drive, too.  None of this me driving stuff for a celebration.  And after we've stuffed ourselves, we'll be sure to swing by this cool little shop in town called Truffles and Tortes.  Oh, baby, do they have awesome chocolate desserts there!  They give decadence a run for its money.  Then we'll drive by a few bookstores where I'll sign my books and feel very author-like.  No champagne; not for me.  But maybe a sip of my favorite chocolate/vodka drink.  Hmm...I'm sensing a chocolate theme here.

To kick off my celebration I'm going to give away a copy of HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND to one commenter.  I want to hear about what you do when you've a reason to celebrate.
