As a follow up to Kathy's post, I'm playing Monday morning quarterback on the Oscars, LOL. Those of you brave enough to have rendered an opinion Saturday, feel free to weigh in crowing about the accuracy of your picks, or to bemoan a clearly superior actor/film that was overlooked.
I'll freely admit up front that I made no predictions. It takes an act of Congress to drag my dh to the movies, and when we do go we end up watching a thriller (my favorite) rather than the movies getting all the buzz. My recent movies include Up, It's Complicated, Inglourious Bastards, Couples Resort, Edge of Darkness, The Invention of Lying, and The Informant. Of those, only Up and Inglourious Basterds were nominees, so clearly I was in no position to make predictions.
Like most awards, there are waaaaaay more categories than the viewers care about. Let's cut to the chase and talk about winners of the big six:
BEST PICTURE
The Hurt Locker
ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart)
ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Christopher Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)
ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Mo'Nique (Precious)
BEST DIRECTOR

Now, on to the really important details of the evening. How about these gowns? Want to render a vote on your favorites?
