Did you see that ninja?

No?  Don't worry, he's a ninja, you're not supposed to see him.  :-) Sort of like love.  Sometimes you don't see it coming, and it rushes in like a ninja and steals your heart before you even know what hit you.  That's what happens in my latest electronic novella, THE NINJA VAMPIRE'S GIRL.  The story is a quick adventure that takes place one night in London as the heroine quests for an angel's halo, and instead finds herself in the arms of a handsome man who also wants the halo—and isn't afraid to use his fangs to get it.  It's a fast, fun read, and it's part of my Of Angels & Demons series, and a part of my Beautiful Creatures world.
I love writing the Nocturne Bites because I usually do them in first person, and I like to play with that POV once in a while.  Also, the short format challenges me to see if I can make the hero and heroine fall in love—fast.  I've mentioned here before that I believe in love at first sight, well, this story is more like love at first bite.  :-)

I made a book trailer, and this is only my second attempt at using iMovie, so it's simple and the music I found was pretty short, so I'm warning you, it's a fast read.

I don't actually have copies of Ninja Vamp to give away, but I do have SEDUCING THE VAMPIRESeducing the Vampire (Hqn), which isn't in stores until the end of this month.  I'll give away 2 copies to two lucky commenters.  Tell me if you like short stories, or if you prefer them full-length?

I prefer longer stories but have found lots of great new authors by trying their short stories for free or in anthologies.

Fun music on your trailer, Michele. I can't believe you put that together having used iMovie only twice! Wow.

I like reading short stories, just can't imagine writing one. Can see how it'd be a challenge, though, and help you recharge in a way.

I like short stories as well as longer length novels. Short stories are great when you are busy and don't have a lot of time to read and need that romance fix.

What a clever little minx you are, Hauf. Best of luck with your Bite.

I used to be like some, that I thought you didn't get as much with a shorter story. Now I like a short little scene or interlude featuring a couple who have promise for happily ever after. And if an author writes in a 'world', I like to get a glimpse at secondary characters from other stories in a shorter format.

I enjoy both. I probably read more full size stories but sometimes I just have time for a quick read and the short stories are just the right size. At the doctor's office, waiting for someone, sometimes they really are more convenient.

What a cool video, Michele. Is this a program you download and if so, what does it cost?

Congrats on the H/Bites! sounds like a great story.
Generally, I prefer a novel but short stories and novellas are growing on me because the time commitment is so much less.

I usually prefer full length stories but sometimes, especially when I am busy, short stories are a nice change and a nice quick read.

Cindy, iMovie was on the Mac when I bought it. It's a cool program, but no instructions, so frustrating to try and figure it out as I go. But certainly fun to create my own videos!

Your trailer is right to the point - I liked it!

Usually I have to say full length but the busier my life gets, the more I want shorter books. So I guess my answer is really both lol.

I like both. But at this time of the year when things get hectic I enjoy the short stories more. Quick, enjoyable reads.

Nice work on the trailer, Michele!

I read more full-length novels than anything, but I enjoy good reading in any form. I love writing novellas, have never tried a short story, but I'm of the opinion that the shorter the piece, the harder it is to write.

Snappy! I've never done a trailer or worked with the video programs. Bet it's lots of fun and new storytelling skills to test.

The story looks fun too. I've recently been reading the Nalini Singh books and I have to say that a rich world with lots of bits to develop is very happy-making for the reader.

I'm so impressed with your movie-making abilities, Michele!

Your POV choice is making me think...I am writing a short story for the upcoming Mammoth Book of Ghost Romance and maybe I'll try first person!

I like them both! Depends on my reading mood! Love the trailer~

I prefer longer stories. Shorter stories just don't seem to have enough depth to the characters or plot.

I like both formats. It all depends on how much time I have to read. Sometimes though, I wish the author would expand the short story into a full length novel, but that's okay.

Michele, I like both short stories and full-length books. The shorter time commitment is nice with the little stories. They remind me of a Godiva chocolate truffle. One really can be enough!:)

Your story sounds FAB!:)

I prefer the longer stories. However I do buy anthologies and categories too. I like to read them while I wait for appointments etc.
