While We're Waiting

Happy Monday morning all!

While we're waiting for Susie's post take a gander at my new cover for my 3/09 Harlequin NASCAR book.

Like? Don't like? I'm curious what everyone thinks.

Susie, or anyone else, post over me whenever.

This is the guy, Argentine polo player Adolfo Cambiaso, who I always pictured for my hero. Cute, isn't he?

I think the cover is wonderful, Helen! The people look real for one thing. That's not always true! And the colors really make it stand out!

Great cover. And I love the blurb line below about pulling off a fake relationship without falling for each other. I LOVE that premise.

Helen, I really like it. I'm a little surprised that there isn't more background. . . like in your first NASCAR book. But I LOVE her silver top-- really glitzy and eye-catching. And his helmet and jacket say the rest.

Looks very HOT. What about you? Do you like it?

Yeah, they do look real, Kylie. And it's flashy, isn't it?

Marilyn, the premise of this story was fun to write - a playboy hero fake dating America's Sweetheart to make it look as if he's cleaned up his act. Only the heroine has her own agenda. I really enjoyed writing it.

Betina, I haven't really decided if I like it or not. I'm not crazy about how the hero looks. Not at all what I pictured for Roberto - my ex-Formula One Argentine. I always imagined the Argentine Polo player, Adolfo Cambiaso as my hero. The heroine's a pretty good fit, though. I always pictured Eva Longoria for her.

Man, those Argentinians sure do have some handsome polo players. My favorite is Ignacio "Nacho" Figueras.

Oooh, Nacho! Pretty sexy, Marilyn.

Wow! Obviously I need to follow polo more! Or at all. These guys are hot.

Helen- I like the cover. It feels like the reader is at the track with the lights, etc. And I like "fake" relationship stories because you know it's going to go horribly wrong! (g)

I really like the cover Helen. Looks more like a photo of a couple than a regular book cover. Must admit, I like your sexy polo player more...

That's a fun cover, Helen! Very eye-catching couple and I love the premise--the whole fake-relationship thing is always fun! Thanks for sharing :)

Nummy, Adolfo!

I like the cover! To me it looks like the blur of flashbulbs going off in the background at night, so it's very cool. Gives it a glitzy feel.

That's a good point, Deb, that the cover makes it feel as if you're at the track. Latin guys. Mmm, mmm, mmm.

Yeah, Liza, sadly those are my thoughts too.

Michele, that's interesting that you say glitzy, 'cause that's part of the story. He's a wealthy playboy and she's an actress. They're living the life!

The cover says, "Start your engines" to me. Very sexy. Can't wait to read it.

I really love it! Pretty hot for a NASCAR cover. This is the type of cover that makes me stop and read the back of a book to see if I want to read it.

Well, Fiona and Cyndi, you've got me excited again!

It's very catchy Helen, but I must admit if you had this polo player in your head for your hero you were bound to be a little disappointed no matter what they came up with.

Because, oooh-la-la-lalalala. Such a hunk of manly man.

Yeah, you should see listen to him talk. Oh, momma! I HAD to listen to some videos to get a feel for the Argentinian cadence/dialogue and he's got one sweet, sweet voice.
