I’m popping in for a quick announcement and to offer some insider scoop on the Riders! First, as promised, the winner of my Traveler’s Remorse blog is LSU Reader! Please send your snail mail info to leanne bbb@aol. com (no spaces).
As a new rider, I received the wonderful opportunity of meeting some of the vet riders at the RWA conference. First, Christie Ridgway, RITA finalist in two categories this year, is sweet, humble, friendly, fun and beautiful. Here she is at the Harlequin Party with Cindy Kirk and me.
I also met RITA finalist Betina Krahn, who gives new meaning to the word class. We chatted about publishing history and grandchildren during an RWA luncheon. Here is Betina at the Harlequin party with me, Cindy Gerard and Curtiss Ann Matlock.
In case you didn’t know, but I’m sure you already did, Debra Dixon is just plain smart and knowledgeable, especially about writing and publishing. When she talks, it’s a good idea to l-i-s-t-e-n. Here she is in green with the rest of the riders at breakfast.
The beauty on the far left is Helen Brenna. Helen is so fit and trim I had to ask if she works out. Of course, she does. She told me she lifts fifteen pound weights for arm curls. I lift 3 lb pink weights. She snickered! Oh, well, can’t hold a grudge against someone with dimples like hers.
Now, for Cindy Gerard and Kylie Brant. Cindy has a sly sense of humor and is one of the warmest people I know. Kylie fooled me. I thought she was the reserved type until I saw her on the dance floor. Both of those chicks from Iowa have some serious stamina! I wouldn’t be surprised if they closed the party down! Here’s Kylie (on the dance floor, of course<g>) with Editorial Director Mary Theresa Hussey, Kylie, Gennita Low and Roxanne Rustand.
Here are Cindy, Leanne and Kylie.
Till next year!:)

Fun pix! Thanks so much, Leanne. You rocked in the pink dress.
I'm sitting here coveting Helen's blue dress, Leanne's pick number, and the biceps on both. It's time I moved up from the 10 oz. soup cans.
What fun! From where the sun now stands I vow I will not stay home next year.
Leanne, love the pics!
Pink weights ... you kill me. Bet they match your HQ party dress. lol
Yes, Kathy, you have to go to NY
Great photos, Leanne. thanks for posting. As always great seeing the RIDERS in attendance and I missed seeing the rest of you!
Christie, great praise from you. I "shopped" my closet.
Kathy, you were missed! And I have lifted soup cans too! I thought I was being such a good soldier to advance to my 3 lb. pink weights until Helen said she lifted 15 lbs! Show off!
Helen, I love your BLUE dress!:)
Cindy, we all loved seeing you.<3
Yes, those Iowan Hussies wore me out!!!
Hahahaha Gennita! Love it!:)
Love the pictures! Didn't make it to Nationals this year, so it was fun to see them!
