Starting a New Book

I started a new book yesterday, the 6th in the Mirabelle Island series, and you know me. Had to find pictures of my hero and heroine for inspiration. Had fun looking through pictures of faces that seemed to match my characters.

My heroine, Grace, grew up on Mirabelle. Her father was the island pastor, a mild-mannered man, but she never got along with her mother. After a troubled period as a teenager , she rebelled and left the island to become a world famous model. After a tragic car accident that led to her divorce, she's back on the island, licking her wounds. I know what Grace looks like ... Gisele Bundchen ...

Gisele is married to New England's Patriot quarterback, Tom Brady, but he doesn't fit my hero. Not exactly sure who does, so help me out here.

Hero, Sean, is the relatively new doctor on the island. He comes from a high-pressure family of doctors - father is a neurosurgeon, sister a stem-cell researcher and brother a renowned cardiologist. Sean rebelled by becoming an ER doc in LA and after burning out, he moves to Mirabelle. Having too much time on his hands, he buys the island stable and carriage operation, and he loves working with the horses.

Naturally, my thoughts traveled to actors who have played doctors on TV.

Does Sean sound like Matthew Fox?

Or ... Eric Dane?

And Anna D got me wondering ... what about Leonardo????

Decisions. Decisions. Who looks like he fits with Gisele?

Helen

I vote for Matthew Fox! He just looks like he should be holding Giselle in his arms. ;-)

Eric Dane looks more like a man that would buy/own stables to me to fit that role.

I started a new story yesterday too! Hm...for the heroine, I see Tahyna Tozzi. She played the diamond skin girl in WOLVERINE. I'm unsure on the hero.

I agree with Michele... and Keri. I think Matthew looks more tortured, but I could see Eric with horses more easily than I could see Matthew. Sorry! No help, but they are both excellent choices!:)

This is so interesting. I had the same sense about Dane looking like he'd be comfortable around horses, but Matthew Fox looks more tortured. Goes to his LOST character, I suppose.

Matthew Fox would look superfine on a horse. More important than whether he'd be comfortable around horses is whether horses would be comfortable around him. I would have to see Dane's hands.

I'd go for the Fox look.

Just thinkin'... I started a new story yesterday too! Me, Helen and Keri. Go us! But if I put up the pic of my hero I might scare people. :-)

Oh, now you HAVE to put up the pic, Michele. PLEASE!!!

I have to go with Matthew Fox, as he has more of a tortured hero look :)

I'm going to go way off from Fox and Dane and suggesting Gisele's real life ex Leonardo DiCaprio. He could totally pull off being the burned out doc that loves working with horses. Plus we already know that he and Gisele look good together.

True, true, Anna. They did date. I'm off to look for a photo. Love LD!

Helen, I'll post with my characters on Friday. It's kind of fun to do this once in a while, showing people who we imagine as our characters.

Hey Helen,

I absolutely love Eric Dane, but I'd have to say that the Sean I pictured in my head, while reading Along Came A Husband, looked like Matthew Fox.

Sexy hero pics. I love this!

Hi Helen, I am loving Matthew Fox as Sean.

I can't wait to get my hands on more Mirabelle Island books. So glad you started another one. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Peace and love,
Paula R.

Hehehe, Michele, B - that's so fun that you thought of Eric Dane!

Hauf, looking forward to the pix!

Rula, I have to admit Mr Fox was in my head, too, but Eric Dane popped in as soon as I realized Sean bought Arlo's stable operations. Weird, huh?

Paula, number 5, Sarah's story is almost finished, ut I had to start Sean's story to keep to my deadlines.

It seems I may have to some up with some composite of these wonderful men! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Super happy you're working on this great series of yours ;-)
Now I'd pick Matthew Fox... a doctor with family troubles, doing what HE wants, maybe a bit rebellious... definitely him for me !

Thanks Emmanuelle! Good to "see" you here again!

I vote for Matthew Fox. He looks like a fine 'rebel'. I've liked him ever since Party of Five.
