Giddy with Sunshine

That's how I feel today.  After a month and a half of teasing, failed promises, and downright lies, the sun (fingers crossed!) has finally decided to make itself at home in good ole MN.  I sat on the deck this morning and closed my eyes and the inside of my eyelids went bright red and warm and it was amazing.

Answer this simple question today: What makes you giddy?

Remember, all week, if you leave a comment on any post, you're entered to win in our WJWTGSABWAYA contest!

Michele, with a few more images of what makes me giddy.

A bright sunny day but not too hot and a slow walk on the beach makes me giddy...not that I get to do that too often.

When all my cats want to sit on me at one time, I get very giddy...and not just from lack of oxygen!

A good, honest, down to my toes belly laugh : )

That first hot cup of coffee in the morning ; )

When I see the first patch of Crocus in the Spring!

That perfect slice of homegrown tomato on a fresh, hot biscuit dripping with real butter--Summertime!

Being in the silent woods of Autumn, surrounded with color, and breathing in the earthy scents of Fall.

Everything about Christmas : )

"Giddiness" occurs when I have a day off and my entire family leaves the house for the day, so I can blog and read to my heart's content!

Riding on a merry-go-round! If you haven't done that lately, you should. It makes you remember all the things that made being a kid so cool.

I define Giddy as:

when I bite into a Caramel filled ice cream bar covered in chocolate(as I haven't had that in awhile and it was 'to die for'.

eating watermelon with salt outside on a lovely sunny day and seeing who can spit the seeds the farthest.

hearing a song that 'touches your heartstrings' and you could melt.

sitting on the swing on the patio with your furbaby next to you and petting him/her and feeling 'all is well with the world'.

* I love the pic of the kitties and all that chocolate, yummy.

loving all the giddy responses! Only one needs clarification. RobynL, is watermelon with salt a local delicacy? I've never heard of it salted. Sounds weird. But if you tell me it's good, I might have to try it since I'm addicted to watermelon lately.

Books, sunshine and chocolate makes me giddy! We could use some sunshine here right now because we are having rain, for the past two days rain. I need some giddy sunshine to bring me up!

A definite yes to sunshine and chocolate--preferably with a good book. What really makes me giddy, though are my grandchildren, two laughing, loveable and way-too-energetic toddlers.

Hey, Michele! I'm from VA, and here in the South we use salt on watermelon and cantaloupes. The salt brings out the sweetness and the juice : )

A few things that make me giddy:
A new book by one of my favorite authors and a free Saturday morning to indulge in reading it.

Finding something I have been looking for at a discount store at an unbelievable price for its perfection.

A day filled with cool experiences in a new location.

All good ones. Playing games with friends/family, walking into a bookstore with money to spend, babies of any kind (animals included), vacations, a couples glasses of wine :)

Being able to sit on my deck soaking up the am rays before it gets too hot drinking my coffee, watching my dogs enjoy the sunshine too & reading a great book. Anytime at the beach is always the height of giddiness for me.
Love & Hugs,

I get giddy and excited when the first hummingbird shows up at my feeder every year. Also I get giddy in the springtime with all the new babies (geese, raccoons and birds). It is just a wonderful spring right now.

A great sale can also bring on the giddiness.

Thanks, Virginia. WIll make a point of trying that this week. Just a pinch of salt.

I'm getting giddy reading what makes everyone else giddy. It really is great just to share good stuff!

At the risk of sounding like "me, too," I'm giddy today at the beautiful sunshine in Chicago. We in the Midwest truly know how to appreciate it!

Nice weather makes me giddy, too, but so does watching new episodes of my favorite TV shows.

Watching the veggies in my garden grow. ;)

Other people are making fun of me, but it really is satisfying to poke some seeds in the dirt, then watch them turn into squash:

And counting my little green tomatoes (I have more than Deb Dixon, heh heh.)

I was ridiculously giddy yesterday when I finished repainting my patio furniture. Instead of our usual staid tan, I did one chair in brilliant yellow, one in green, and the little table tomato red. I was struck by wild impulse in the paint section of the hardware store, and I'm happy to say I don't regret it one bit- I grin every time I see the set, nestled in with pots of bright red geraniums, yellow tickseed, and some funky purple pincushion flowers.

Bookstores filled with books makes me giddy...especially when I get to buy more than one book. Also get giddy from spending a warm afternoon outside.

Lots of above- I also salt my watermelon, my husband thougnt was crazy. A beautiful sunset or sunrise, finding a book I've been waiting to read, the thing that I enjoy most comes from my hobby of jewelry making and the look on my friends face when I create something specifically for them :)

Holding one of my books in my hands for the first time.

(I live in northern Iowa and I know what you mean about the sun. It disappeared for many days in a row, and it is so nice to have it back!)

This is something made me ridiculously giddy...just last week I bought some used bookshelves and now have all my books and magazines all put in nice order...it was such an awesome feeling to see everything up after so many years of cramming everything in one shelf and tote boxes.

Waking up on a sunday morning with the sun shining on my face. Looking at the clock and realing I can stay in bed a few more minutes.

Having my cat smile at me after I feed him his favorite snack. He has the best smile you'll ever see.

Reading the last pages of a good romance novel. That happy ending always gives me a buzz.

Putting on my favorite floral summerdress and spinning a few rounds. Getting dizzy and feeling pretty.

Getting a real letter from a friend. That anticipation of good or comforting news.

Michele, most people haven't heard of watermelon with salt. My parents ate it that way, especially Dad(he's German). I don't know if his family did it also, I would assume so. But we love salt on our watermelon - brings out the flavor and juices.

The fact that the rain has finally stopped makes me giddy. And two days in a row we haven't had tornado warnings or watches, that's enough to make anyone giddy.
