2010 Resolutions

It's that time of year again, and if you haven't made your New Year's Resolutions yet I'm here to help. But first I'm going to try to talk you out of it.

I'm of the mind that we shouldn't be held responsible for anything we promised this year. I mean, 2010?? That sounds so back to the future-y. "Sure, I'll have that done for you. In the year 2010. I'll just have my human droid fly that over to you by spaceship."

My recent issue of Armageddon Weekly advises me that the end of the world is nigh, at any rate. (I mean, how many times can they be wrong?) But if you're bound and determined to make one resolution this year, consider this one:Most Americans stick to their New Year's Resolutions for fourteen days.

I say, beat the curve, don't make them at all. But if you do, make them count:

You may be so grateful for the help you've received here, that you'll want to pass that assistance on:

But don't be surprised if your helpfulness isn't appreciated:

We all need to cling to the hope that change is always possible. That with a fresh year we can start anew:

But in the end, success is most likely if we resolve only what we believe we can truly accomplish:

I'm keeping it simple this year. In 2010, I resolve to write.

Did you make any resolutions this year? Or determine to give it a pass for 2010? Anyone in particular that you'd like to make a resolution for?

LOVE this post!
And I did make a resolution. I'm going to buy a new full length mirror. One of those that makes you look at least 5 inches taller and 40 pounds slimmer. I'm going to prop that sucker up next to the bed and when I get up each morning and see myself, it's going to make me smile. And that's my resolution. To smile every day when I get out of bed.

I make resolutions for hubby.

Cindy, make sure you shop in the men's department when you buy the mirror. It's been my experience that their mirrors provide much more flattering reflections to them than ours to to us!

Terry, I thought about making a couple resolutions for Kanye West--1)see counselor about poor impulse control problems; 2) take medication religiously 3) stay off stage at awards ceremonies!

Kylie, thanks for this wonderful collection of laughables!

After years of resolving to get organized and stay organized, I'm resolving to put one foot in front of the other one day at a time.

The pics didn't open for me.:(
But my resolution is to have fun this year...but I like Terry's attitude, too.

Well, shoot, Lois. Wonder why that is?

Kathleen, I resolve every year to lose weight. And I do. Every year I lose the exact same ten pounds, LOL.

I think I'll resolve to lose 10 pounds, quit aging, meet Gerard Butler, and hit the NYT list. Yep. That'll do it! lol

Helen, I'm gonna hang out with you, LOL! I think I'd be equally delighted with the fruition of any of those resolutions!

A few years ago we started making "sustainable" resolutions for the household.

Last year it was to be greener. Not really green like Ed Begley Jr, but to be more aware.

We began recycling our cans and turning off lights when we leave a room. It's a routine now.

This year it's all about fiber and the wok. We want to eat more vegetables.

These are resolutions we can sustain. Tiny tiny choices that add up to a lot over the course of a few years.

Deb, a few years ago I resolved to get in better shape. Well, it was June of that year, but still, that works, doesn't it? I've done much much better. Work out several times a week, when my schedule allows.

We've switched to the lightbulbs that are low energy (I hate them). And I'm considering turning off one of my computers when I'm not using it. That's a huge concession for me. We all start small, LOL.

Great visuals, Kylie! I resolve to relax and let life take its course. Also to lose the obligatory 25 pounds and do my taxes BEFORE October 15th!

Heh. Fat chance.
