BelleBooks is very happy to be doing a fabulous, quirky, Southern women’s fiction novel next spring. Here’s the concept for Jean Brashear’s cover. (Do remember that we don’t do all the final meticulous fiddling until we settle on the cover. Now that this IS the cover, we’ll go back and tinker with everything again to get things just like we like them.)

What a fun cover, Deb! I don't often pick up books based on the cover, but this would intrigue me enough for a reach!
Go Jean!
I like this! The title alone would intrigue me, but the bright colorful cover definitely tempts me to buy. I'm finding more and more that covers affect my buying choices. A cheesy or drab cover makes me think the book might not be good. A good cover attracts my attention and prompts me to pick it u and read the back cover.
Good job!
Squeeee!!! Can you hear me from Texas, gang? I got a Google alert that DD had posted this and just had to come over and gush!
Has Master Debda come up with a GORGEOUS cover or what?!?!? The title lettering alone is enough to make me...okay, TMI.;) Maybe not better than sex, but...dang. Be still, my heart.
I was already finding the experience of working with Belle Books dreamy, but then she shows up with this audacious, bold, delicious cover...oh, pittypat, pittypat! Picture me prostrate at her feet.
LOL! Jean is so funny.
I just thought I'd brighten up the blog for the holiday weekend. (g)
Jean - you have every right to SQUEE!!
The cover is gorgeous.
Deb - how blessed you are with such an amazing art department!!
Awesome cover! Looking forward to the book :)

Cindy-- Yes, that little piggy went "Squee! Squee! Squee!" all the way home. (g)
Diane-- Hey! Good to see you hanging around with us. Glad you liked the cover the book's pretty great too. (g)
I have no idea what the book is about, but would pick it up and look based on the cover alone. The sword screams medieval something, maybe vikings or scotmen?? They are my favorite historical themes, or perhaps it is a time travel book or ??? I think it is a really clever cover!
Great title - would make me pick up the book and check it out.
I love the cover -it really draws your attention - looking forward to seeing it at my local bookstore.
Stephenia-- Weeeell, it's not medieval. (g) It's women's fiction. The cover quote will be from a well-known NYT women's fiction author and the back cover copy will signal any erstwhile historical fans that they should read this book anyway!
Mary-- The title was the subject of much debate and it's so perfect for the book, but also so memorable. We love it too.
We'll have Jean back to blog when the book comes out.
I love, love, love it! Great work DD!
