Friday Afternoon Delight!

I'm researching Argentina for the new book I'm working on. My NASCAR drivers an Argentine. Ran across this. It's a surprise and one of my all-time favorite movie scenes!!

You know, I've never seen that movie but that scene is wonderful. My hubby and I took ballroom classes last year and learned the basic tango. It's so structured and sharp and sexy. You dance hip to hip and move as one.

Of course I've heard it was invented by the gauchos in Argentina and the bent posture is because they couldn't stand up straight because their leather chaps were "frozen" in a bent position from riding in all sorts of weather. And the woman's posture -- with her head leaned way back -- is because the man smelled so bad she had to avert her head to have any chance of not suffocating from the odor.

Great find, Helen!

I loved watching it, Helen. I haven't seen the movie in a while but I'm going to have to watch it again the next time it crops up on cable.

Happy Friday!

Marilyn, you have to see this movie! It's wonderful. That is exactly how the tango developed, too. The gaucho's pants were stiff, and they stunk! Funny, isn't it, that something so romantic came from such an odd reality?

Christie, I've watched this several times. Always love it!
