Here's a little something to whet the appetite for my interview with Anne, which will go up RIGHT HERE tomorrow instead of the regular BQ. We start out thusly:

Set in contemporary small town America with a well-drawn cast of characters, PALE IMMORTAL (just released!) is simply an irresistible read. I defy you to set the book aside after reading the Author's Note at the beginning. Legend has it that a vampire once roamed the streets of Tuonela, Wisconsin. An autopsy has it that town’s first murder victim in a hundred years was drained of blood. However, if you're looking for the typical fang-in-the-neck vampire story, this isn't it. Tuonela has its dark history and attending lore, but the characters are perfectly believable human beings. Mostly.

So, Anne, I won’t say you had me at hello, because we do not go gentle into the PALE IMMORTAL night. But the characters had me early on. Can you guess my favorite?

FIND OUT WHETHER ANNE READS ME CORRECTLY TOMORROW.

Just stopping by on the web crawl from the launch party over on Anne's Blog. It's so interesting how many different people have joined in and how different each person approaches posting about it.

I LOVE the trailer, Anne!
Very atmospherey, downright X-filesy. Did I hear your daughter produced it for you? Wow, what talent! She could have a career in book trailers-- if writers weren't so underpaid or so cheap!

Hooray! The book is out!

betina, yes my daughter made the video. she's just finished another one for a writer in hawaii and it's amazing. i'll post a link when it's ready for viewing.

and you're right about most writers being unable to afford them!
i'm still not sure they're worth the expense.

she's going back to school for a masters, so that will probably be the end of her book trailer career.
