Second sale!

You know a couple weeks ago I made a post about how waiting to hear from my editor was killing me? Well, as it turns out, waiting is worth it when there's a sale at the end of the line. Harlequin Superromance is buying another one of my books!!

Don't have any details on pub date, but I'm hoping for some time in Fall 2007. For now, the working title is THE SUN HUNTER. It's another adventure romance, this one set partially in Peru, and involves a fractured marriage, a secret baby/child and an ancient lost Inca city, high in the Peruvian rainforrests.

Where do we come up with this stuff, huh?

Helen, was this sold on a complete ms? or a partial?
and refresh my memory about the first book. Do you have a pub date? Was it sold on a complete, or are you working on it now?

Anne, this 2nd book was sold on a partial, but the book is finished. I have to cut 100+ pages from a 425 page ms. I know how the bulk of it will come out, but didn't want to go thru the revisions unless Superromance liked the main concept.

The pub date on my 1st sale is 2/07. That one was sold on a complete after they read it once and asked me to make significant revisions with no guarantees of a sale. Once again, had to make big cuts out of the ms.

(I've been writing for the ST market all these years!!)

For this second sale, they're thinking my pub date will be 7/07, but earlier if I get the revisions finished sooner.

very cool, helen. i think it will be much less stressful for you to have the ms finished except for the revision. my first two sales were two weeks apart and i had to write both books. i've seen that happen to other people too. it can be a little overwhelming!
